the original S1 was very noisy so Flsun decided to change that.
they also offer a Upgrade Kit for early machines.
In that upgrade kit a new Blower will be installed but due to its bigger dimensions they decided to do that in a seperate housing on top of the printer
This mod includes 3 parts:
Mount to fit the fan on the inside
a hose-adapter to fit a part of the hose to the inlet of the fan
Vent-In part that hold the hose at the original inlet point
Assembly instructions:
After removing the original fan and swapping the electronics, mount the Fan to the new mount.
Preparing parts:
to prepare the vent-in, insert some magnets diameter 6x3mm
at the end of the new mount you have to insert some M3 heat inserts, i used the type thats common for vorons
5,0*4,2*4,0
to install the fan i temporarily removed the side fan, to get better acces
pick the 3 holes to match the original mounting point, after assembly the inlet port should be facing to the original feed-through hole into the main chamber
probably the 3 holes next to those i picked fit better, you can try
you can use the original screws and also the rubber-damper from the smaller fan can be re-used
the outlet of the blower should be facing down but pointing to the center could be also a working setup
after installing the hose to the toolhead, move it to the bottom and the outer diameters to take a look on how long the hose have to be
then hold the end to the fan and move the toolhead back up
if everthing fits you can cut the hose
when the fan is installed, connect the hose that you cut off to the TPU/TPE Adapter, then connect both to the blower-intake
feed that through the original inlet hole and plug in onto the vent in
if needed, cut the hose to fit, i have cut approx. 180mm but it's tight. Marshal in the comments suggest 190-195mm, go for that!
when assembly the cover plate, stick it to the cover and close the lid.
its a bit tricky, the hose could be a bit longer, but it works
This mod still uses Air from outside to cool, if you dont want that, just install the fan inside and dont hassle with the inlet extension.
for the future:
a 2nd gen could be a changeable inlet port to switch from hot inside air to cold outside air
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
