The back gauge helps bending same lengths several times without the need of marking your sheets before.
Just set the leg length, tighten the bolts and bend as usual. Just one sheet after another without interferring.
You can also use two gauges for two different lengths while saving time for alignment.
Using diffrerent combinations you might have one long back gauge, just a short one or two separate short ones.
It's up to you! 🙃
Round magnets*: 8 mm diameter, 3 mm height
threaded magnets*: 25 mm diameter, 8 height magnet / 7.5 diameter, max. 11 mm height thread
metal ruler: max. 14 mm width and 0,5 mm thickness (I chose scala 20 cm rulers)
heat inserts*: Ruthex M3
If any part you want to use differs, feel free to ask. Also you want to use the handles I uploaded already, just beace the gauges are specific made for these.
For the full assembly of one connector you'll need:
1 printed connector
3 or 6 heat inserts
1 threaded magnet
1-4 round magnets (the more the better😜)
1 metal ruler
To assemble the connector, just have a look at the attached PDF.
For assembly with the filler parts you'll need six ISO 4762 M3x10 bolts, three for each connector.
The handles and slot nuts need one M8 screw and nut each. I chose M8x20, which works fine.
Nothing is added to the back gauge, you only need the printed part.
Assemble the whole built and now you can snap it to your brake, using the threaded magnets and also remove it, if neccessary.
The final step is to mount it to the brake, then lay the rulers in and move them flush to the front of the clamping bar.
Mark the spots on the rulers where the printed connector starts. That's where you cut the ruler to set it to it's relative zero.
Now it's done and fully assembled.
Have fun working with it!
Following there's a little extra if you need it.
And just in case you find errors or missing information, please tell me.
Due to a massive lack of time currently, I just did my best possible.
So just let me know whatever it is! 🙃
The original design is made for the Wiltec brake mentioned.
But I would like to make it universal or at least make variants for other common brakes.
For other brakes I just have a lack of information. That's where you come in.
What height have other brakes on the mounting side? Maybe any other special geometry on that side? Hopefully it's just a flat, vertical surface :-D
If you have any other brake and you want this Add-On Gauge, please tell me.
That's the crucial height, I'm curious about:
Most of the design is universal already and it should only come down to changes for the connector.
Which means, I can create variations for specific brakes with other dimensions, you'll get a dummy part to test it and then I'll release the added variant.
Thank you very much for your support and again: enjoy your new tool!
And yes, indeed, I started using affiliate links, they are marked with an asterisk. In case you buy something, I might get a little provision and you won't have any increase. I like providing my work for free as far as it's possible, but somehow I have to finance all that. 😅
Maybe it helps you and me, so we're both happy with it! 🙃
