A play on its purpose, the dimpling of the golf ball was used as an integral part of its design.

PrusaSlicer was used for almost all of the design.  After oversizing the golf ball file (for the outer shell) a negative volume was added using the same model, but with a diameter of 4mm smaller (to act as the inner shell) and as close to the 42.67 mm diameter of “most” golf balls.  Then a short cylinder was added to the whole thing so one has something to grab hold of while marking the ball.  Finally, I used a Text cut into the model.  The .3MF format is used so all you have to do is change the text.

Sometimes the text moves around when you change it.  No worries.  Select the Text modifier in the part selection panel.  Then use the Move tool to get it in the middle.  This will likely change/obscure some of the text.  You'll want to deselect “Use Surface” and “Per Glyph” modifier then re-select both.  It should fix the problem.

30° was used for the minimum for supports and it came out great.

Now SLICE!
