**********

I use a standing desk when I work and for long-term usage, I switch between standing and leaning against a leaning stool on a regular basis.  This helps me avoid “sitting” in an office chair.

However when I lean against a stool, I put pressure on my ankles that is not great for them over time - so I designed this foot rest to push my feet against (at a comfortable angle) to avoid injuring my ankles - works great on carpet!

If you are not familiar with leaning stools, check out this one.

Key features:

  1. Angled at 35° from the floor for comfort.
  2. Barbed on the bottom to grab onto carpet so it prevents you from sliding forward (not designed for hard/smooth floors).
  3. Allows you to rotate the foot rest to help stretch your ankles (see pic above).
  4. Mostly hollow to minimize material usage.

Printing Recommendations:

  1. For fastest print use a 0.6mm nozzle if you have it.  0.4mm nozzle works too.
  2. 2 vertical walls is plenty strong enough, typically.  More if you are a bigger/taller person.
  3. Great model for PLA.
  4. Print one for each foot.
  5. Due to its larger size, adhesion helpers will help it stick to the bed - you can use the .3mf file attached that includes adhesion helpers.
  6. A 2-3mm brim can also be helpful.  You can easily remove the brim and adhesion helpers with a deburring tool.
