thanks to our friend  Alexandro

now we have a new hotend supported.
https://www.printables.com/model/1127748-phaetus-dragon-hotend-holder-for-xenomorph-by-cn3d

Added the Extruder Sun Gear

As i promised I'm back with the link for Orbiter V2.5 KIT https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_onDlXsr

I have uploaded the Extruder main Body with the filament cutter. forgot to upload it thanks to  our member  Kalda to notice this.

So if you want to have a filament cutter  use the parts from the Folder
Orbiter Extruder With Filament Cutter  and you will have 2 filament sensor

Other wise Use the parts from the folder Orbiter Extruder NO Filament Cutter and you will have only 1 filament sensor above the extruder gears. the second filament sensor is for MMU setup.

Please READ The ATTACHED PDF Manuals!

Introducing the Xenomorph Orbiter V2/V2.5 by LDO The Toolhead for 3D Printing Enthusiasts

After the overwhelming success of the original Xenomorph Toolhead for the Sovol SV08, we’re thrilled to unveil the Xenomorph Orbiter V2 by LDO. This upgraded version has been designed in response to community feedback and comes packed with innovative features, improved compatibility, and significant upgrades to performance.

Key Improvements Over the Original

Weight Reduction:

  • Utilizing the Orbiter extruder by LDO Motors reduces the toolhead’s weight by 53 grams, thanks to the lighter LDO motor.
  • A more compact design also trims down weight from the printed parts, improving overall efficiency and speed.
  • The non cutter version has a filament sensor in the extruder body above the gears

Enhanced Filament Handling:

  • Filament guide due to orbiter design
  • Dual Filament Sensors: For superior reliability, we've added two filament sensors—one before the gears and one after the gears.
  • Improved Filament Cutter: The cutter now uses a 5 mm OD spring (10 mm length) paired with a #4 hobby blade, delivering precision and durability.
  • Placing the second filament sensor after the blade reduces the minimum purge required, streamlining multi-material transitions.

Expanded Compatibility:

  • Supports the Orbiter V2 and V2.5 extruder models, thanks to input from Robert Lőrincz, the Orbiter’s creator (shoutout to our fellow Romanian maker!).
  • Works with multiple hot-ends and is compatible with Knomi V1 and V2 displays by BTT. Prefer a sleeker design? Opt for the fake turbine option instead of a display.
  • Designed exclusively for 36 and 42 format toolboards, such as the EBB36, EBB42, and their derivatives.

Future-Proofed:

  • This design is part of a larger vision—our team is actively working on a Multi-Material Unit (MMU) to further expand your printer’s capabilities. Stay tuned for updates!

Community Acknowledgements

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of the 3D printing community. We’d like to extend our gratitude to:

  • Robert Lőrincz for creating the Orbiter extruder and for his guidance during development.
  • Jason at LDO Motors for supplying the Orbiter kit for testing.
  • BigTreeTech (BTT) for providing the Knomi displays and other essential components for evaluation.
  • Polymaker for sending filament to test.

Print Settings:

  • 5 top
  • 5 bottom
  • 4 walls
  • 20% infill Gyroid
  • 0.2 layer height
  • Printed in ABS/ASA recommended we have used Filament from Polymaker

Bill of Materials (BOM)

A detailed BOM for the Xenomorph Orbiter will be provided on our website, including:

We couldn’t have achieved this without the continuous support of our users, testers, and the broader maker community. Thank you for believing in our vision and pushing us to innovate further.

This version is also compatible with the 3D printed Gantry https://www.printables.com/model/929513-sovol-sv08-xy-3d-printed-gantry

Later update: 23 January 2025
we have added in the ebb 42 folder the 3 files for better strain relief of the toolhead board cables.

there are the same but with a bigger (wider) hole. if you are using other boards stick with the main covers.

Also added the LED.CFG this is what i use on my toolhead. Just download the LED.INI and change the extension from ini to cfg

after uploading it to you machine add [include led.cfg] to your printer.cfg

Scroll down we have a PDF made by our member Rick with the schematics for the tool boards and wiring. thanks 3DPO

We have also support Klicky PCB
this mod was a request from our member

who wants be have this toolhead ready for MMU here is an update

Extruder main body + the hub + the extruder front cover I made a 3mf file that includes everything also my ABS Settings
use support and don't worry i have added support blocker for the extruder main body, on the filament path and for the blade location.

the hub is a design made by LH  and we made also a version that includes the blinky. but is not ready since we need to adjust the brake

Later edit: 14 January 2025
added the lower mount for ebb36 with MAX31865 chip

We have now a X carriage for Beacon/Carto/IDM Probe

22 April 2025
We have added 4-in-1 hub with filament sensor aka gate

To install this you will need :
5mm ball https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oDk0IeP

filament sensor switch https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_olihF0X

Here are some Pictures to help you set Happy Hare

Important aspect is that all the hot ends have the same distance from the extruder gears to the nozzle.  we accommodate this by different hot-end holders, to keep the same distance.
toolhead_extruder_to_nozzle: 97.6 # Distance from extruder gears (entrance) to nozzle
toolhead_sensor_to_nozzle: 75# Distance from toolhead sensor to nozzle (ignored if not fitted)
toolhead_entry_to_extruder: 16.8 # Distance from extruder "entry" sensor to extruder gears (ignored if not fitted)
