Xerses Remix/Remake - Kia EV6 Console Capacitive Button Cover

2025-01-26 UPDATE: I received a request to make one without the heated steering button so I added it to the 3MF and I created a new set for RHD vehicles, so there is a new RHD 3MF file, as well as the RHD STL files.

I wanted a solution for the issue of brushing thecapacitive buttons at the end of the Kia EV6 center console and found a model on Thingiverse. The problem is that model has the holes off-center to the buttons, the angles of the openings for the lights are incorrect, I did not like the bevels, the holes and openings are inconsisent to each other, and I found it to be a bit thick; I also did not like the fact that it printed face up, meaning the finish was not great.

IMPORTANT - Ideally printed in ABS, but PETG should be OK. It gets really hot in a closed car in the summer.

I used the original model's basic shape, but removed the holes and openings and started from scratch. It is reduced to 2.5mm thick, the holes are centered, and the openings for the lights are angled correctly and are consistently placed in relation to the holes. I flipped it to be printed face down so the plate texture is what you see when in use. Simply use a very thin double sided tape to stick it on and you are good to go. No more activating heated/ventilated seats or heated steering by accident. This also makes it easy to find a button without looking.
