A Shelf Pin Jig I made becasue I had to fit some shelves to a cabinet I built and didn't want to pay for one.

It is heavily inspired by the jig uploaded by hashtagsheep, but I changed because I don't have a self-centering drill bit.

Holes are standard 5mm holes, spaced 32 mm center to center. There are 4 options for distance for the edge for added flexibility: 37 mm (most common), 23 mm, 50 mm and 36 mm.

The file for the pin includes 1 pin, but you need 3: 2 as an edge guide and the last one to chain the jig to the next position by inserting it into the last drilled hole.

I printed in PLA with 0.2mm layer height, 3 walls and 40% infill and it's very sturdy.

You may need to print the pins at 99% scale. They're supposed to be a tight fit, but depending on your printer's margin of error they might not fit.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • Changed drill holes to 5mm instead 8 for use without a self-centering drill bit.
  • Added second edghe guide row and second drill hole row for a total of 4 possible options.
