These Cooling ducts where designed to keep the XY motors on my voron 0.1 cool when i turn up the current.

At the moment my motors run at 0.8A but i also experimented with 0.9-1A. Maybe will go even higher once i got some spares for testing.

There was already a design by 247printing but these only worked if the backplate is open. These cooling ducts here work with the backplate mounted (see pictures). This still requires outtake holes in the sideplates an intake holes in the backplate to be efficient.

The ducts keep some space free for additional 40x30x8mm heatsinks on the motors but testing showed that it still cools the motors quite good without the heatsink.

It is mounted with vhb tape to the extrusion Profile behind the motors since this was the easiest and least place consuming solution. Other mounts will follow later.

The ducts are compatible with standard 4010 fans. You could either hook some 24V 4010 directly to the powersupply or use 12V fans and hook them up to the hotend fan (parrallel) so the motors are only cooled while printing (when the hotend is warm). With other mainboards than the skr mini there should also be other versions possible if the board has more fanheaders. 5V fans hooked up to the step down converter would also work, but they also wont be controlled.

My Pi and mainboard are simply cooled by a 80mm intake fan in the middle and outtake holes in the side pannels which lead to great airflow from the middle to the side. the electronic compartment was sealed towards the printing area.
