Stretch-foil bearing

These bearings are the cheapest way to improve your stretch foil packing experience! 

..Or any other foil on a paper roll

If your boss doesn't want to buy that fancy stretch foil handle for you, print two of these.

Useful in a warehouse and kitchen alike.

I am aware that these paper rolls are not really standardized…

FEATURES:

• Print in place bearing, spins right off the printer!
• No more skin irritation on your fingers from holding and spinning that paper edge!
• Makes it possible to place the foil on the floor vertically and still spin it freely!

HOW TO USE:

1. Print two of them (check your rolls size)
   • Some minor sanding can be done if the print is not perfect (especially the top rim)
2. Press fit them into the roll
3. Enjoy!
4. Don't forget to take them off before throwing the roll away! Re-use them on the new roll!

HOW TO PRINT:

• You can print without support, tree supports or similar to prevent sticking of the bearing to itself might be better though
• Tolerances are very loose it should be fine for any printer.
• Make sure your overhangs and bridges are slow enough, this model needs a rim to be printed freely in the air.
  • I tried a few way to eliminate this issue (star, round star, hexagon, supports…) but given the small scale none of them were truly successful and honestly, it does not matter too much if it warps a little. 
  • For the models that have it round star is my current latest version
• Choose your color wisely
  • In my case printing in ABS:
    • White color had a much higher friction than black color for some reason. Black would spin freely while white would stop very quickly. Let me know your experience!
