Shuffles double-sleeved Magic The Gathering cards.
Printed in 3DPrintingCanada Canadian-Made PLA+ White, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height.
The shafts I used were made for these O-rings (on amazon.ca):
https://a.co/d/dgIRBcE: “uxcell Silicone O-Ring, 18mm OD, 12mm ID, 3mm Width, VMQ Seal Rings Gasket, White, Pack of 10”
MTG_Shuffler_Shaft_v2 are the re-designed shafts with grooves to hold o-rings (the amazon link above) - if you print these, then don't print the shafts in the card.shuffler.v3mrb-parts.3mf file (right click on them and uncheck “printable”) nor the card.shuffler.shaft.rubber-band.3mf file
if you're using small rubber bands, print the card.shuffler.shaft.rubber-band.3mf file (resized from the previous model)
lastly, the shafts in the card.shuffler.v3mrb-parts.3mf don't have a groove, and could be plasti-dipped or used with U-shaped seals that wrap around the “disc”
I was more comfortable in Fusion360, so I used it for the redesigned shaft (o-ring variant). I've uploaded the .f3d file so if you want to adapt it to other washers or make a plasti-dip model feel free to do so. Helper disks are needed around the base to stabilize the print (print them vertically), and/or use organic supports to help with the underside of the o-ring grooves.
card.shuffler.v3mrb-front-2.3mf
This is the front plate, where the gears sit. Includes the MTG logo debossed into the plate.
card.shuffler.v3mrb-front-2-2c.3mf
This is the front plate with the MTG logo in a separate color (face down on the plate). Use MMU, or if doing manual filament swaps it is only 2 layers thick so you only have to change filaments twice. Because it's only 2 layers it looks best with dark lettering on a lighter front plate.
care.shuffler.v3mrb-front-back.3mf
This includes the front plate (without the MTG logo) and the rear plate. Print just the rear plate if you want the front plate with the logo.
card.shuffler.v3mrb-plates2.3mf
These are the 6 plates that install between the front and back plates. The slots for the shaft wheels are 25mm apart - equally spaced.
card.shuffler.v3mrb-parts.3mf
The shafts, gears, handle, and gear shafts. The 2 main shafts (the tall ones) have 3 disks with flat edges, intended for U-shaped "O-rings" or plasti-dip.
card.shuffler.shaft.rubber-band.3mf
Alternate version of the shafts that can accomodate a rubber band on the disks.
MTG_Shuffler_Shaft_v2.3mf
Redesign of the shuffler shafts that fit the O-rings mentioned in the parts list. Prints with supports.
MTG_Shuffler_Shaft_60deg.stl - same version but with 60 degree chamfer instead of fillet - should print without supports.
MTG_Shuffler_Shaft_45deg.stl - same version but with 45 degree chamfer instead of fillet - should print without supports, but might not clear the slots in the side plate. I haven't tried it. But you could trim the plate slots to fit.
card.shuffler.v3mrb-wheels.3mf
The gears for the shuffler separated from the other parts.
spacer-for-hand-crank-v3-card-shuffler.3mf
I added this to the design to make the handle fit better on the crank.
Card-Shuffler-Base.3mf
Tall base that adds height to accomodate 200 double-sleeved cards.
Card-Shuffler-ShortBase.3mf
Shorter base that adds enough height for most decks, and helps prevent jams from the tall base which can possibly allow the cards to flip over as they fall.
** 2024 Dec 24 - updated with requested changes from @Drakorex
latches are 0.1mm higher and 3 mm thick to make them more reliable
added a “short” base for single-sleeved MTG cards
added the resized “rubber band shaft” from gnomon (https://www.printables.com/model/855864-rubber-band-shaft-for-card-shuffler/files)
I replaced the “wheels” file with an updated version that doesn't include the measuring disc which interferes with the teeth and makes it too thick.
** 2025 Jan 04 - replaced the “front-back” model and gcode files with the ones resized for MTG. The “front-2” plate by itself was already the correct one.
** 2025 Feb 11 - added the "front-2-2c" 3mf/bgcode files for MMU3 users - to print the MTG logo in color.
** 2025 Jun 17 - added the “spacer-for-hand-crank” STL file
** 2026 Mar 24 - updated the MTG_Shuffler_Shaft_v2.* files so the discs are equally spaced (thanks @KakePrints!)
** 2026 Apr 04 - added variants of the MTG_Shuffler_Shaft with 45 and 60 degree chamfers around the discs instead of the fillet - these should print without the supports. Be warned they might require modifications to the slots in the slotted plates to rotate freely.
The author remixed this model.
Changed size to 92 x 77 mm to accommodate Magic The Gathering cards (100 cards) that are double-sleeved. Base clips on and allows the full deck of 100 cards to be shuffled at once.
Re-designed the shafts using Fusion360 to use O-rings that are easier to get in North America.
Used PrusaSlicer to emboss the MTG logo on the front plate.
