Volvo trunk floor panel handle

In my Volvo V70 III (from 2009) the handle of the trunk floor panel broke. You can either order a replacement for ~20€ or spend a couple of hours to design an improved version, which I did.

Additional Parts

• 8x M3x12 or M3x10 screws
• 8x M3 washers (optional)

Printing

• Material: I used PLA but PETG would probably be better because of better layer adhesion
• Nozzle: 0.4mm
• Layer height: 0.2mm
• Infill: 15%, Gyroid
• Handle
  • I printed it sitting diagonally on the straight bottom edge
  • I manually painted on the support enforcers for some sections
  • Brim: 5mm
  • Supports: Everywhere

• ClampRing
  • No supports required
  • The model already has the correct print orientation
  • If it clamps not tight enough the ring should be easily scalable in Z direction

Assembly and Installation

When tightening the screws be careful not to overtighten them otherwise they rip apart the layers. That happened for me but since there are “enough” screws the handle still sits perfectly.
