remixed from @jmsweng's remix from @CAD_Dude's excellent original model.

fixed some minor fit-ness and printability problems, reduced cost to print (30% less filament for the base) while maintaining most of the structural strength. It has smaller (but big enough) desiccant holder and a different loading mechanism. It also has room to add a customized accessory such as a humidity display.

sized for “Plastic House” container. Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YQN42HD/

compared to others, this box is a bit narrower at the bottom and is fully symmetrical which makes the model designed for it more universal. It also has slightly more room on top, allowing bigger spools to fit.

for other containers, test by printing the “template” file. if it fits in your container then chances are this model will work for it.

other notes:

  • might need some glue for the desiccant holder cover
  • don't try to disassemble the whole thing while reloading reels. just pull the arms apart slightly then slip the central axle along with filament reel out of the bearings. i made that piece a lot looser so it should be very easy to do. sand it down a bit if too tight.
  • the "plugin" provided in this model is just a sample meant for easy remix for your own equipment. for myself, i won't even have a display there. I will be using cheapo ZigBee sensors to centralize all the data.
