This is the official Hydrapus Coin! Hail Hydrapus! A friend made the logo that he gave me full permission to take and do whatever I wanted with it, as long as I improved it; he loved the 3D design! A long story short; there's an inside joke about platypodes* between us, and he took the human skull out in favor of a platypus skull, giving birth to the Hydrapus!
Compliance will be rewarded. Give it to a friend who covered for you in math class or that dumb job. Give it to your brother for not snitching on you for that thing that you totally didn't do. Give it to an enemy as a distraction when you're about to attack them**. However you use it, it should elicit a confused yet grateful response; you did give them something, but whatever this something is, is of unclear value and meaning.
I like to make this one dual color. For my single filament Mk4, the swap should occur at 29M37S, or 2.8…whatever unit that is. See pics for details. Supports seem to work fine (though I believe supportless also works, don't quote me on that), and the roughness of detail on the logo is, in my opinion, what gives it a haunting look. 15% infill is perfectly fine. Happy printing!
*That's the ABSOLUTELY correct plural, as it's a Greek-based word (meaning “flat-footed) and that's how you pluralize a Greek word. Platypi is incorrect, as that is how you pluralize a Latin based word. Platypuses is what caught on because there aren't enough etymologists around. Similarly, this is why ”octopi" is not the correct plural of “octopus." Funny enough, that word should also be octopode, as it is also Greek in origin. This is a hill I'm willing to die on!
**Disclaimer; this is a joke and any reasonable person should be able to tell that I am making a joke. If you do what I said, you did so at your own risk and you deserve what comes to you; separately, if that actually worked out in your favor, let me know.
The author remixed this model.
The original coin is blank. I added a design that a friend sketched up quick, and I 3D-ified it.
