Inspired by @Mimo47_326620's Closet rod holder for hanger.

I've already made a 1-5/16" 3mf and there are STEP files (should work in OrcaSlicer, Prusa Slicer, Bambu Studio) for

  • 1"
  • 1-1/16"
  • 1-5/16"
  • 1 1/2"
  • 16mm
  • 20mm

This lets you hang a closet rod from below something like your ceiling or a closet shelf.  I designed this for attaching a closet rod to my ceiling above my laundry sink.  They're pretty strong, too.  Printed in ABS with 3 walls and 15% infill, it was able to hold my weight (~275lbs).

  1. Drill a pilot hole then screw a small wood screw (#6 or #8) into the end of the rod, around half an inch from the end.
  2. Mount your holders.
  3. Push your closet rod through the opening until the screw is lined up with the groove in the holder.
  4. Twist the rod until the screw clicks into place.  You should encounter some resistance right before it seats as it passes over the retaining bump.

The original CAD is available on OnShape if you want to modify it to your needs.
