This turntable uses the TYJ50-8A7 synchronous AC motor, used mostly in microwave ovens to rotate the food plate. It can be directly connected to 230 V AC and has some 5-6 rpm, which is just rigth for video purposes.

It can be bought on AliExpress or better yet, salvaged for free from any MW oven (I have yet to see one that uses different motor). Salvage also the support part with three wheels, although it can also be bought.

You will need

  • Lasercut parts (see: Video_Turntable.ai)
    • 1x base
    • 1x track
    • 1x turntable
  • Printed parts:
    • 6x VT_leg.stl
    • 1x VT_coupler.stl
  • Hardware (2 sets for motor, 6 sets for legs):
    • 8x M4x12 screws
    • 8x M4 hex nuts
  • Other
    • 1x TYJ50-8A7 AC motor (salvaged from microwave oven or bought new)
    • 1x plate support ring (salvaged from microwave oven or bought new)
    • 1x lamp power cord (with switch, optionally), either with the press fit connector, or you can salvage the proper cables and use something like WAGO to connect it.
