My wife wanted to make something different this year for a tree. Originally planning to take the six boards and lash them together with a cord, I offered to make some parts. This is the result. Probably shouldn't have started with 8' boards that were eventually cut down to about 7'. The angle at the top os 10 degrees.
Print the top bracket, 2 of the small bracket, and 4 of the large one. One side of the design has a larger gap so that an opening can be made to place the gifts inside. Use a long bracket for that gap, with two long brackets to either side, with the last long bracket being opposite the front. The two short one are for the final side. Different sizes were used so that they did not need to be placed at the same height.
Two zip tips (snug channels are present) hold the top back to the boards. Two screws hold each of the other brackets in place. Than zip tie the end of a garland to the top bracket and wind around until you run out of energy, money, or both.
Materials used:
6 - 1.375" x 1.375" x 8' boards (~35,mm square by 2.4m long). Shorter is probably better.
More lighted garlands that I can remember…
Note that the designs are rough at best and I have plans for an adjustable side bracket.
