I pre drilled the holes in the wood by slightly screwing in the wood screws to mark where I needed to drill, backing both out, then drilling the depth of the screw with a 5/32" bit. Intention with the wire mount is to pinch the wire against the wood, while still allowing for the easy removal of the headphones for travel by undoing both m3 bolts.
Warning: I did not add extra clearance between the connection between the mount and holder, meaning I had to trim the edges with a knife to get them to fit together. If you have a good printer that doesn't overextrude I expect this will be less of a problem.
Enjoy!
Hardware:
2x M3x12mm bolts
2x M3 threaded inserts
2x wood screw I had lying around (pic included)
