Rivian owners have an updated way to enhance their storage capabilities with the introduction of the OpenSourceEV Parts Hitch Receiver Box V2, specifically designed for Rivian R1T and R1S.

This innovative accessory is tailored to fit within the towing hitch, providing a discreet and un-noticeable storage space for small tools and other essentials. It will fit cleanly underneath the OEM Hitch Cover.

It has a retainment clip system to keep the storage box in the hitch receiver without the need for any additional fastening. Push gently on the side clips, slide it in, and it will snap into place.

It also has a sliding top that stays in place when the box is closed and does not fall off when opened.

Nothing additional is needed to print or install this item, but it's critical that it be printed correctly to be able to bend but not break. Here is how we do it internally - YMMV however:

Print in ASA or a high quality PETG with strong internal fill. We strongly recommend 3 wall layers at minimum. Depending on the printer, (very) small supports may be needed for the push nubs.

• The sliding top has been completely reworked to stay in place when the box is closed and stop sliding at the groove when open so to not fall off.
• The side walls have been reengineered to be much more structurally sound while preserving as much of the box interior as possible. The structure is now significantly strong when not installed and the interior dimensions are not substantively different from the original.
