Primary and secondary staining of cells on coverslips can be done by flipping the coverslips on top of a 40 μl drop of antibody solution instead of adding the full 200 μl in each well.

You just need some parafilm to out the droplets and coverslips on, add some dH2O on the side compartments to maintain humidity and you are set. Then for washing you can use the wells of this plate that are shallower making it easier to see and grab the coverslips with tweezers.

The whole thing stacks with normal 24-well plates, so you can safely keep everything in the fridge for overnight incubations.
