A bit specific one I was asked to make for my friend, and maybe will be useful for someone else.

Cup Holder Adapter for Firm holding cans in Car Cup Holder

In a first place This Holder Adapter was made for Ford Fiesta 2011 cup holder which is like one on Photo below:

As Original Holder does not hold Cans well and they are tending to fall out on bumpy roads or some fast stop or acceleration actions I was asked to make something better here. So I did what I am presenting here. So I can confirm it works for Ford Fiesta 2009-2013 models with this style of cup holders. But there could be a lots of other cars where it could work as good. So here are sizes of this Cup Holder adapter and if You like it just check dimensions of Your cup holders. Here are sizing chart. And as You can see here are 2 different styles of Adapters. Simple Round one and one with spring loaded push lip:

If You are going To print Simple version then No hardware needed

If You are going to Print Spring Loaded version then only hardware part You will need is Torsion springs (Wire Diameter: 0.5 mm; Width Approx: 3mm, Length Approx: 58mm, Small Spring Rotation Angle 120 Degrees) . Ones I'm using here I got on Amazon Here .

Assembling of Spring Loaded Version is very easy, but to be 100% clear, here is simple instructions:

  1. Print 1 and second plates in profile
  2. Check is Rod going through Lip Holes easy and let Lip turn around it.

It Should be ok, but if it is not then give a little shave with Deburrer tool, file/sandpaper or knife:

     3. Take 2 Torsion Springs and cut one leg so it is a little shorter than Lip so it will be hidden behind it:

     4. Put springs in place and push Rod through Lip and Them like it is shown in next photos:

     5. Put assembled Lip into place. Easiest way Is to do it through inside a holder. You will see a two spots on sides for rod and two groves where You should place the other two spring legs. It can be looking a bit tricky but actually it is quite easy.

     6. Lastly Put spring compartment cover in place. As You can see there is grove to put it in place.

Then push it in using a little force:

It should snug very well so no glue is needed, but if for some reason in your case it is a bit loose, jus put 2-3 drops of superglue to keep it in place.

That's it.

Small recommendation. As it meant to be in car (and if you are going to use it in car) as Print material to use here I suggest is PETG or even better ABS/ASA if possible.
