Light up your next adventure with the LightCore Ranger, a remix of Dummy 13! New features include mounts for 5mm LEDs in the forearms and head, and a backpack that stores a coin cell battery.
Follow the same assembly and recommendations from the original model: https://www.printables.com/model/981111-dummy-13-version-10.
You will also need soldering tools (iron, wire strippers, solder, helping hands).
With a 2032 battery and one 3V 20mA LED, you can expect around 10 hours of battery life. The light will dim gradually as the battery drains.
To create a friction fit with the backpack, you may want to add a small sliver of packing foam (or a folded-up piece of paper or cloth) to the battery case. Some tape or a rubberband will also work. I made the tolerance generous so that more battery case models would still fit.
Wiring a single LED to a coin cell battery is pretty easy. The current and power are very low, and you get reverse polarity protection because it is a diode. You can easily check if a battery and LED are good by placing the battery between the leads and squeezing to make physical contact.
Please use your best judgment to safely make and play with this toy. It has small parts that can be swallowed. Soldering requires careful attention to avoid burning yourself or other things, and it can create harmful fumes.
Thanks to Soozafone for making a fun model. Thanks for visiting, and enjoy!
The author remixed this model.
I modified the forearm and head pieces to hold 5mm leds. This remix if fully compatible with the original parts.
