IKEA "Harte" Light Base for MK4/MK4S

This is a minimalist and simple solution since IKEA "Harte" lamp is supplied with a power adapter so no other parts required. It may be powered by USB 5A 1A if you happen to have USB kit installed.

Versions

• V1 - shorter platform leaving switch hanging free
• V2 - longer platform for switch attachment (2x zip-ties required)

Assembly Instructions

• Take the lamp apart by cutting through rubber part first, then unscrewing metal bendy part out of its base. Use pliers to hold onto the LED module and another pliers to unscrew the metal part.
• Feed the wire through a tiny hole and tie a knot, then solder to LED module. It only works one way so take notes of the polarity before cutting any wires.
• Push the LED module into the printed base, it will only allow 10mm of depth to hide the black part completely.
• Attach the base with M3x6 screw onto the frame - there is a threaded hole on the back which is used for z-top-right screw, but it is enough thread for a few full turns.
• Secure the switch with double-sided tape if necessary.
