Wemos D1 Mini V3.0.0 (AliExpress) ???
Cable from an old computer mouse (Wemos to letter) ???
5V USB micro adapter ???

Very cool models! Thank You Satellietje! Did two different names. Cases printed in black PLA. Diffusors for light printed with a single (!) layer of white PETG and the remainder in transparent PETG (kexcelled The K5 Diffuse Clear White) - which turned out really well. Used a white paint on the inside of the letters for more reflectivity. Added addressable fairy string lights using hot glue (there is no way I'm going to solder these guys individually). Also added the back plates and a small slab of walnut wood as bases. Wasn't aware of the WLED project until now and am very pleasantly suprised.

Hallo, sehr geile Lichteffekte.
Kann mir vielleicht jemand genau schreiben wie ich das ganze anzuschließen habe.
Bin neu auf dem Gebiet.
Danke

There is a YouTube video in the description that explains step by step how to program the Wemos.

For connecting the LEDs, it works like this:
GND from the Wemos goes to the – (minus) of the first LED.
5V from the Wemos goes to the + (plus) of the first LED.
The D‑pin from the Wemos goes to Data IN of the first LED.
You can connect the + and – in parallel to the next LEDs.

The data line works differently:
Data OUT of the first LED goes to Data IN of the second LED.
From the second to the third, and so on.

Also check the attached photos; they show exactly how to connect everything.

Using LED strips instead of stand alone units was certainly hard mode, but I think it came out great. (edited)

Thank you for an incredible project! I had so much fun bringing this to life—and although my wiring, soldering, and assembly skills could use some work, “ELLIE” looks fantastic and Ellie loves it. I also experimented with glow-in-the-dark translucent filament for the letter fronts, which gives the piece an extra dimension by softly glowing long after the lights go out. Thanks again for everything! —BP

Him quick suggestion, could you make folders for each letter for more convenance, and more organized, because right now it's just a big mess. (No offence). Thank You!
