Brackets to attach a filter to a Ryobi Fan (RCF18), for use in soldering and similar.
I thought the original design by @SenWerks was great, but it didn't really allow for the fan to point down at all (you have to use it in the “wrong” direction for suction, after all), which was kind of a problem for getting it close enough for small jobs, as the fan is quite tall in this context.
My adjustments doesn't solve this problem completely, but I got it close enough for my needs.
Print with tree/organic supports on the teeth that grabs the fan.
The design isn't very strong, but unless you plan on attaching and removing it often, I doubt it'll be a problem for this use.
I added a .step file to make it easier to do further adjustments, but keep in mind that the .step is just a .stl converted in Fusion, with all the downsides that entails. But options are options.
The author remixed this model.
Removed two bottom “feet” and increased clearing so that it's easier to point the suction down. Also thickened parts of the feet, hoping to increase the structural integrity a bit.
