This is a simple mount for the Buddy3D camera to fit the official Prusa XL enclosure. Rather than hang this upside down using the mount point in the bottom, which would be a bit weak to 3D print, I made this mount instead for now.

This was made via a 3D scan of the camera and reverse engineered in ExModel.

You will need the following hardware to complete the build:

  • 2x M3x8 (M3x6 would also work) screws and washers
  • 2x M3 inserts, Ruthex or CNC kitchen

As this will be at the top of the enclosure where it will get fairly hot, consider printing this part out of something like polycarbonate, which has a good heat resistance. Also please pair your camera with PrusaConnect before you mount the camera, as it will be a lot easier!

If you find this model useful please consider joining my club here on Printables, even if only for a month. Thank you!

After printing, install the two M3 inserts in the holes indicated.

Orient the mount as pictured and insert the camera upside down until it is seated in the mount.

Leave the cable out for now.

While supporting the camera and mount from the other side attach the screws and washers using the two upper holes, as seen here where there are two stainless steel screws.
Plug in the cable and using the cable tie loops provided secure the wire across the top of the enclosure and out of the hole through the back.

You will need to manually orient the camera until Prusa implement the remote control functionality. Finally as the camera is upside down you will need to rotate the picture, you can do this using the control circled in blue:
