I have borrowed some ideas from this project: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1104612
To build you will need:
- Headpins: 3 inch 21 gauge gold plated brass headpins (Ebay, Aliexpress)
- Spring: 8mm external diameter, 26mm length, 0.8mm wire (or something close)
- Screw: M2.5 screw, washer and nut
- Superglue: to reinforce thin, fragile print features, and to fix pins in place
- Filament: i'm using PETG + carbon fiber (PETG-CF), and i strongly recommend it for this project
- Layer: 0.1mm
Pins have to be flattened slightly on IC contact side (just enough to fit in the contact slots, and still be able to move up/down), to achieve larger contact surface to IC legs. They also should be bent up slightly after fixing them with glue, to have good contact to IC legs.
To flatten the pins i'm using miniature jewellers hammer + an anvil.
