I needed a windmill for a educational project to show kids where power comes from.  My model had LEDs that lit up when someone turns the blades.  The Arduino would sense the rotation with the on off of the IR sensor, and make LEDs start chasing.  This windmill does not put out actual power, its just for a model.  The Amazon link for the sensor that fits is below.  I did have to add some foil tape to the plastic ring that breaks the IR beam because the plastic was not enough to trigger.  Darker plastic may not need this.  The head of the tower uses some screws to hold it together. Dont quote me, but I think i used M3x30, and just screw it right into the plastic.  Blade can glue onto the shaft.  Blade did need supports, and I did some sanding to clean up.
