2024 3D Printing Award - Newton's apple

The model was designed with Newton's discovery in mind, representing the apple that helped him in his understanding. The apple is removeable and is patterned with hexagonal cutouts, while the base is meant to represent a tree, with a Voronoi pattern on the surface. Internally there is a spiral helix which is visible between the gaps, while the cubes showcase the power of SLS printing and its ability to handle overhangs.
