MP5 AEG Curved Mid Cap Mag for Mosquito & Cyma (BETA WIP)

A mostly printable MP5AEG magazine designed specifically for the the Mosquito Open Beta 2 and upcoming Mosquito MK1. Given how the mosquito was designed for Cyma Mags, this should work with CYMA MP5 AEGs as well. Dimensions are based off CYMA metal curved mags.

You'll need a couple screws, nuts, a mag spring, a pen spring (or any small spring that fits), and a follower if you don't want to deal with a DEMONICALLY difficult print.

Print settings:

0.2mm first layer, 0.15mm other layers.

3-4 perimeters

Included 2 piece follower is EXCRUCIATINGLY frustrating to print, good luck.

For the follower, use organics supports everywhere with a 30deg threshold, and be careful removing them. You'll also have to break free the joint and work it until it pivots smoothly. The inlcuded 3MF has support enforcers painted on.

Required hardware - short, mid, std:

M3 hex nuts - 3X, 4X, 5X

M3 socket head screw, 18mm-19mm - 3X, 4X, 5X

Mag Spring - Super Feed Springs work but are not recommended.

Spring - 4-5mm outer diameter would work. I used a 4.75mm/9/32" spring since i'm in Canada.

Optional:

3 bits of 1.75mm filament as pins.

A mid cap mag follower if you don't want to deal with the torturous 2 piece follower included in here.

Capacity:

I have not figured out the optimal spring lengths yet, so take these numbers with a ginormous grain of salt.

Standard: 100-120

Medium: 60-70

Short: 30-35

If you want to edit the CAD files, you'll need FreeCAD 1.0 or newer.

Refined tolerances for better reliability in the Mosquito.

MUCH higher max capacity.

Easier to remove spring holder. You can use an m3 screw to easily lever the spring holder out.

Multiple sizes for different needs. You can balance your Mosquito using the 20deg grip and the short mag.

Easier print settings. Just set first layer to 0.2mm and the rest to 0.15mm. Prusa's 0.15mm profiles would work perfectly.

Included two piece double stack follower is EXTREMELY challenging to print but offers great performance.
