My version of a spool protector for both the inner hole and the spool itself. I use a lot of Elegoo filament and Nova Scotia made Eureka Filaments in my 3D printing. What I like about Eureka Filament is that they use similar size spools. However, not all spools are the same of course. However, this version seems to fit most of the spools just fine.
UPDATE: I've included a simple cylinder that fits with friction from one end of the spool through the other by about an inch. Print standing up on the build plate with 10mm brim. Don't remove the brim, but run your deburring tool along the inside to remove the ridge and it fits over my Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro and 4 Plus spool holders great. I've used them now on 10 spools between the three printers and the cylinder inside the spool helps hold the two ends on loose-fitting spools and keeps the dust from cardboard spools out of the picture in a simple, easy way. File for the cylinder to fit is below. I printed with 0.2mm.
Anyway, I hope it's useful to some. I found the Elegoo spool caps either fit or they didn't and I was often chasing them and pushing them back in when they were loose. At least with the ring attached, for the most part they work. I don't think there will ever be a perfect solution since most are going with cardboard spools but this keeps the cardboard dust out of the printer and the print at least.
