When my bestie lamented that she couldn't find a Godzilla Christmas tree topper anywhere, I accepted the challenge. In her words, “Ok it needs to be the Godzilla from the most recent movies, I think they’re called the Monsterverse. The chunky guy with a square head and keloid scars.” So here he is, ready to demolish the holidays! Santa hat not included.

He's ~30 cm (12 inches) tall at 100% and spilt into 3 dovetailed parts for simpler printing and assembly. I printed him with the following settings:

  • 0.4mm nozzle
  • PLA plastic (this is Polymaker Glitter Galaxy Dark Green PLA, for that added festive sparkle)
  • 0.2mm layer height
  • 5% infill (didn't want him to be too heavy for the tree)
  • Speed: between 30-50 mm/s mostly, with infill at 100 mm/s.
  • Tree/organic supports, maximum branch angle 40°, branch density 25%, distance 0.5.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Resized, split into three dovetailed parts and added a… umm… a tree hole?
