Hello!

This is the model of an enclosure I designed for the Ikea BROR shelving unit.
I designed this to reduce the amount of dust that could settle on the Prusa XL, reduce drafts, and eventually to set up some air filtration system.

For this assembly, I used the following hardware:

  • M3 x 50 [mm] machine screw
    • 1 per hinge
  • M3 x (8 - 10) [mm] countersink screw
    • 2 per hinge
    • 2 per latch
    • 2 per hangle
  • M4 x 10 [mm] cap head screw
    • one per hinge
  • 6x 2 [mm] Magnets
    • one per latch

I also ordered 3 [mm] thick laser-cut acrylic panels for the doors.

For my use, I have not yet made the bolt-on panels for the back and side to complete the enclosure since they are against the walls.

KNOWN ISSUES:

  • The BROR shelving unit is made from bent sheet metal pieces that slot together. If standing on a floor that is not level the frame can be squint, affecting how the panels sit square with the frame.
  • When assembling the side door I found it was sitting high compared to the front doors and I had to shim up the front legs of BROR to stop it colliding with the frame. I believe the laser-cut panels were built to my drawing so I believe it to be either some variation in the floor or variation in the BROR frame.
