Enclosure for Framework Mainboards with the internals displayed on the outside.
I really like the minimalistic case for the bare Mainboard PCB as a full PC. But to make it more fun I added the shape of the mainboard onto the surface. So it displays the PCB and Extension cards (kind of like the clear phone cases or glass PC cases, but with a 3D-structure) .
Thanks to ManelTo who provided me the Model of the Mainboard. This made the job much easier. I did change some stuff to the mainboard model and also added some details, but the base mainboard model helped a lot.
The case itself is based on Frameworks Reference Case. I kept most of the internals as they where before, since this design works quite well.
I also added the USB Extension cards onto the case. You can label the extension cards in Prusa Slicer via the Text tool. This way you can customize not only your extensions, but also label them:
It can look like this:
Printing:
When using an FDM Printer it migth get complicated with the 3D-Structure on the outside. This is an issue which this complex design. I would recomend to use support structure on the case inside an have the case outer side looking upwards.
For me printing the model was no issue, since I used an SLA Printer. There it was much easier.
I will update the pictures once I assembled it fully.
The author remixed this model.
I changed the look of the mainboard case by adding the look of the mainboard itself to the skin of the Case. The internals are mainly the same (changed some tolerances slightly).
The exterior is completely new
