Description

PDF

This is designed to use silicone hose to damp vibrations.

It works well with 21mm OD - 12mm ID silicone hose.

Both f3d files are parametric. You can easily change them to your needs.
→ in fusion360 → design → solid → "modify" dropdown menu → “change parameters”

Usage

You can use these for 3D printers and other machines.
I use them for a big 300*300 jubilee toolchanger and outdoor units of Airconditioners.

Assembly instructions

These can take up to M6 buttonhead or socket bolts. M5 buttonhead bolt is pictured. If you want smaller you could always use a washer, or edit the parameters in fusion360.

If you don't want your machine to slip, you can print the bottom cups in TPU, or you can bolt or screw them to another surface

Tube cutting instructions

  1. put the silicone hose in the “cutting tool"
  2. cut with a sharp knife
  3. push tube out with the backside of the knife in the groove (see photo)
  4. congratulations! You now have a perfect 50mm long hose

Tips

If you find that it wobbles too much, you can print the cylinder in TPU, so that it fits inside your hose. Play around with infill and perimeters until you have the stiffness that you need.
However, this shouldn't be needed even for big 300*300*300 core-xy printers.
