This is a nozzle Cam Mount for the new 3DO NOZZLE CAM V2

Some of the features:
- fits PRUSA MK4 and MK4S as well without modification of any original part
- a secure cover for all electronic components
- it is installed tool less to the original PRUSA parts, thus mountable /removable without tools (just replace two zip ties that are there in the original model already)
- no exchange of Original PRUSA parts necessary
- adjustable camera position
- light weight
- has room for a tiny heatsink on the mainchip for cooling purposes
- mostly internal (protected) pathway of the flat ribbon cable
- cable and plug protection for the tiny USB plug and adaptercable
- only three parts to print
- prints easily with absolute NO supports (be sure, that the CamMount part sits flat with the area that shows 4.26 on the print bed )otherwise the contact area is to small and the print will fail

I printed this in PETG .

I used the 10cm flat cable extension to connect to the mainboard.

The developing process was quite a journey over several months with countless prototypes and a lot of PETG junk to be recycled (by recyclingfabrik.com)

For assembly use

  • two M3x10mm Hex screws and two M3 nuts.
  • 1 Zip tie to secures the USB cable and the two halves of the main case
  • The small heatsink for the PCB is 10x10mm. It is originally meant for RaspberryPi  PCB and is self adhesive. It is optional and the 3DO nozzle cam will work even without this add on. But I wanted to use the space the case provides.
  • 4x  M2 or M2.5 self cutting screws to fix the Mini PCB to the main body with 4-6mm length
Update 2024-08-12
* added V4.4 *.stl model files on user demand. V4.4 is a shorter Version of Body and Cover for those having conflicts with the frame when reaching top Z-axis position (or Z calibration issues). This Seems to occur in MK3.9 models derived from MK3S+ with that flat frame. In my MK4(s) I didn’t have this issue and the longer V4.25 did not collide with the frame most up z-position. You may try which option fits your needs best. All other parts are compatible with V4.4.

======================================

This project was designed along with my biggest project ever, the EMMS. A system for mounting all MMU components and the autorewind spools outside the original prusa enclosure for best accessibility to all parts. The spools have autorewind capabilities without attaching any mechanism to ordinary standard spools up to 1kg. Just place them on the carriers!

If you are interested I would appreciate if you have a look to that project aswell: https://www.printables.com/model/914116-external-mmu-mounting-system-emms-for-original-pru

Please show me your printing results and send me fotos of your makes. I like to see how you use this model. If you have ideas for improvement don’t hesitate to send them to me in the comments.   I will try to incorporate your suggestions and will modify the model for special needs if you ask me to do so.

And of course a like ♥ or a rating ⭐ of the design are always welcome.

happy printing,
