I wanted to implement a filament sensor to the Lack enclosure of my Ender 3 V2 NEO but I did not found the correct model. So I designed one !

My filament sensor looks like the model below. I don't know the manufacturer but i thinks it is as pretty common design. If you have a different sensor it may be possible for you to adapt my design to your needs by modifying the part “mobile support”.

This set require the following parts :

  • A 7mm thick 22mm outer diameter and 8mm internal diameter bearing
  • 2x M3x20mm screws
  • 2x M3 nuts
  • 1x M4x20 screw
  • 3x 3.5mm woodworking screws
  • Optionnal : two press fit PTFE coupler

To assemble the set :

Firt screw the filament sensor to the Mobile support part with the M3 screws and nut

Then insert the Mobile support with the sensor in the Rotating support

Then insert the bearing in the Fixture part

Then screw Rotating support to the Fixture part with the M4 screw

In case of a maintenance you can disconnect the sensor or you can unscrew a bit the M4 screw to free the mobile support part with the sensor attached.

The CAD model from Onshape is available here

As always on my models feel free to copy and modify it.
