Original Prusa Mini Enclosure (OPME) cardboard packing box Cat scratch pad

I had the idea to recycle my Original Prusa Mini Enclosure cardboard packing box into a cat scratching pad.

I added some leftover Ice Hockey carbon sticks that I cut to size to create a frame. Fixed together using metal angle brackets  but I could upgrade later using 3D printed brackets.
Wooden frame will also work.

I then put some felt pads on the underside to finish it.

My cat is LOVING it !

I added just a touch of catnip on the cardboard but not sur that it was needed.
I put a picture of the damages after some days.

Size and cuts

Overall dimensions (assembled) are 585 x 165 x 30 mm.

Cardboard cuts

• 22 trips of 30 x 545 mm (longer packing box side).

Frame cuts

• 2 x 540 mm long carbon fiber rectangle tube (~ 30 x 22 mm)
• 2 x 155 mm short carbon fiber rectangle tube (~ 30 x 22 mm)

Assembling

I cut the short carbon fiber frame sides smaller than the overall width to ensure some compression of the cardboard strips.
No need to glue them. Friction keeps everything tight.
