A Piltover “Talis” hammer from the Netflix series Arcane, as seen used by Jayce in his forge and to defend himself. Not to be confused with Jayce's giant weapon “The Mercury Hammer”.

Printing

All parts except for the fitting can be printed without supports. For the fitting I used organic supports, see the .3mf file.

The plastic I used for this was Add:North's X-PLA which I think has a very nice texture without sanding.

Note! The handle is 22 cm long, which is the maximum standing height on a Prusa MK4S. Some tweaks may be needed if your printer doesn't support that height.

Assembly

Push the hammer heads into the fitting through the round holes, put some hot glue (or other glue) into the slot the handle fits into and then then insert the handle from below. Finally glue on the pommel.

Wrapping the Handle (optional)

If you want to wrap the handle like in the picture, my tips and tricks are as follows.

  1. Cut a long piece of fabric 4-5 cm wide.
  2. Do steps 3-6 to get a feel and to cut the fabric into length. Then put a thin layer of hobby glue all along the handle and repeat the steps.
  3. Fold the long, visible edge of the fabric underneath itself to get a crisp edge.
  4. Start wrapping from the top of the handle by holding down the fabric with your thumb and pull it very tight.
  5. Keep wrapping until the bottom of the handle. For the last revolution, fold both long edges of the fabric, since they will both be visible.
  6. Finally, fold the last centimeter of the fabric in under itself and fasten the fabric onto itself with a needle and thread. Gluing the fabric onto itself won't work well, at least if you're just using regular glue, and the glue may stain the fabric.
