Take to the skies with this 1:265 scale model of the F/A-18F Super Hornet, the twin-seat variant of the iconic carrier-based fighter jet! Designed with advanced avionics and precision strike capabilities, the F/A-18F is optimized for complex missions requiring both pilot and weapons systems officer (WSO). Like the single-seat E model, this F/A-18F model features folding wings for efficient carrier storage.
The F/A-18F is my friend's favorite aircraft, so I felt I had to try my hand at it and all the variants!
Included are parts for non-folding wings and/or no landing gear (as some of you have requested that in the past).
To fold the wings, slowly apply pressure to fold the wings up. they will make a small snap sound as you create this hinge, but don't worry! it will not snap unless you fold it downward (I have only tested this with a couple different brands of PLA, I don't know about other filaments).
To insert the vertical tails, rather than inserting the bottom into the slot in the main wing, I have found it easiest to start the top of the vertical tail through the slot from the bottom of the main wing, and use a flat surface to push the tail up through the main wing slot.
Best of luck! I always love to see makes and get feedback on the models!
