I have built your table saw and drill press. These are really great for smaller items. I would really like to build the scroll saw. Is there any way you could let me know how large of material this will handle? Not so much thickness but how much space between the blade and rear arm. And is there a way to maybe increase that distance? Thanks for these designs.
@Dennis_1867033 Thanks. The maximum thickness that scroll saw can handle, depending on the hardness of the material, is 4-5mm. Much more is possible with balsa wood. Approximately 10-12mm. It is not possible to extend the back distance. These types of saws have a lot of vibration. And as the distance increases, the vibration goes beyond reasonable limits.
@KendinYap_1682469 Hello again. thank you for responding. Sometimes I have a hard time explaining stuff. What I am wondering is this max size of material that can fit the table. Not so much the thickness but the distance from the blade to the what you've named "the scroll column". The closest I can measure is about 50mm, but I'd sure like a little larger, maybe 70mm. Thanks, Dennis
Very well done and a great presentation; thanks for the great ideas! Now I want to redesign all of my contraptions. :-) (edited)
wuld be nice to know what motor you use ...
Awesome miniature tool 👌I just couldn't find out the difference of "optional-large" files!
Thank you
Would a counterbalance in the wheel help shaking?
