None of the offerings on printables so far, prints without significant support or needs an extremely tuned machine. Great designs that are relatively easy and reliable to print, don't come in version that supports v1.2 screens or are not made for SV08 at all. Dedicated SV08 versions, I did not like the fully enclosed boxy versions, they were making an already huge machine look more bulky and blocky. I was looking for something simple, and minimalistic.
This model aims to print without supports (Tiny clean up is needed after), takes less time and is reliable for most printers irrespective of its tuning. For perfect prints however, a tiny support is recommended in the mounting screw holes at the corners of the base plate. Especially near the speaker hole
There are ton of other designs that have been time tested and look beautiful. I wanted to make something that was modular and people can bring in which ever display mount they want. the mounting plate has 4 holes. as long as you are able to match the holes in the base plate of the display, any display mount can be ported over to SV08.
Note: the original design for the side by side expects user to drill a couple of holes into the SV08 chasis. I was uncomfortable drilling and screwing in metal bolts so close to the underlying electronics. It may not be risky, but I didnt want to take the risk. So I applied CA glue on the edges of the base plate and mounted the display to it. It has been holding strong. If need be, I can pry it off using metal spudgers and spatula. However, if you are comfortable, then you can drill small holes and insert the screws. I have left the screw holes intact in the base plate for this choice.
Hardware Recommendations:
If this hardware does not workout for you, the base plates are left blanks so that you can punch holes as you see fit. A negative of the m3 screws has been added for reference. You can get away by using 3d gloop or similar plastic adhesives. But given the weight of the display, mounting hardware is recommended.
