This is a set of modular shelves for my stacking 5x5 Gridfinity small parts storage box. I wanted a way to store multiple boxes in a compact space, so I created these shelves that you can stack to hold any number of boxes.
The shelves are designed to be either free-standing, or mounted inside vertical walls for extra strength. The OpenSCAD source file allows you to adjust the parameters for things like the thickness of the side walls, whether to use a hex grid or solid panel, and whether to include screw holes.
To create a storage unit, you'll need one each of the left and right shelf pieces for each box, plus two crossbars per box, and either a top cover, or a left and right top shelf piece if you're mounting the shelves to a vertical surface. If you like, you can print bottom dovetail plugs for the bottom shelf pieces to make it nice and tidy. Use one bottom back plate for the bottom shelf, and then additional regular back plates for further shelves.
The parts are designed to assemble with M3x12mm screws. There are magnet holes on the shelf pieces for 6x2mm round magnets to help keep it steady on a metal surface. There is also a version of the bottom dovetail plug with a magnet hole as well for some additional magnet power.
