Description

PDF

Small upgrade for your mainsail battcar system.  Helps to avoid losing the precious nuts (and your mainsail along with them).

Originally designed for 22mm mainsail battcar system by Harken.

The design is open-source and fully-customizable, made using ShapeScript.

Can be used with a single nut, nut & washer, flange nut, or free-spinning washer nut.

Parts

Printing

You'll need UV-resistant rigid filament, whatever infill % you feel is right, but I used 100% for my rig.

The gasket is optional, it should be printed out of something flexible (e.g. TPU).

Installation

Put the washer + nut (ideally flange nut, as one part) into the holder, glue it to each of your mainsail traveler cars (I used 5200 by 3M, but feel free whatever rocks your boat).

The flexible gasket is optional, mostly intended to prevent the nut from becoming loose too easily.

Bonus: tie the fastener with a string or fishing line to make sure it doesn't get lost.
