I wanted a place to hang all my kitchen tools that I need in a heated moment in the kitchen. Since I didn't want to drill holes in my rental appartement, I decided to create some simple magnetic end stops for a regular & cheap aluminium rod and hang it to my over-head hood.
I used a 10mm diameter rod and the hole in the ends has a clearance of .2mm. If you but a 10mm rod it should be fine to print as is, otherwise adjust the hole feature (see screenshot) in Fusion 360 to your liking. I recommend factoring in some clearance though. There is a completely open mid holder as well to even out the load/stress from the two end stops.
There is a shell inside of the highest part, capable of embedding magnets. Pause the print at layer 110, drop in two 10mm magnets et voila.
Does not require any supports, has been super steady at holding the load (even with more tools attached to the rail). Printed at 100% infilled PLA at 0.2mm just to be sure but infill could be less.
