Version2 has been updated.

mid plate does not secure itself to any part. It simply gets clamped between the MGN12H block and the Hermit crab.

Full range adjustment on the Hermits H2 slot holes.

Modelled (but not remixed) with help from various community models: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4635430 , https://www.printables.com/model/852257-btt-hermit-crab-v2-canbus/files , https://www.printables.com/model/578825-biqu-h2-v2s-revo-hyper-detail

what you'll need:

  • 1x midplate (blue part in images)
  • 2x belt caps (green part in images)
  • 1x standoff block (brown part in images)
  • Front X-profile mounted MGN12H rail
  • Any open-ended GT2 belts (remove end buckles, do not cut belt as they'll be too short)
  • 4x M3x18mm bolts to mount Hermit > standoff block > Midplate > MGN12H block
  • 6x M3x10 or longer bolts for belt clamp cap.
  • 6x M3 heatset inserts for belt clamp bolts (or nut&bolts would work)

the row of 6 holes are 13.5mm centers for any purpose - extra mount, brackets, sensors, adxl etc.

The cutout in the standoff should be orientated against the top rear of the Hermit Crab, to allow the release spring to not bind up.

insert the heatset inserts into the belt caps (green part). M3x10 go through the front side.

Print settings are upto you, but i went with the following:

  • Ensure the mid-plate is orientated correctly on the print bed; the GT2 belt grooves should face upwards
  • Suitable temp filament. i used ASA.
  • 5 walls, 50% infill, 3 top & bottom @ 0.32mm layer height.
