Space Pi Filament Guide Screw Remix (Deprecated, see description)

A different look from the original guide screw. Maybe avoid drilling the holes bigger too.

NOTES:

I made this real quick because I wanted to avoid enlarging the holes with a drill. But I ended up having to make the holes slightly bigger anyways (it seemed faster to reprint at the time). The walls are so thin that the print strength isn't all there, and this is why I wanted to avoid a drill as much as possible.

The top half of the screw is a derivative of Jason's remix while the bottom half is similar to the original design. I wanted the PTFE attachment inside as well since I'm not sure if the printed piece would last as long as the tube, and there's also the easier replacement. So it's a hybrid of the two.

It was still a bit hard to get the tube fitting screwed in despite the slightly larger holes. But it was easier to slowly move the bit through the thin plastic, so there's that.

BOM
  • 2x PC4-M6 tube fitting
  • 1x Short piece of PTFE tube for the inside (If you have a K1 series printer, I used the one that was originally on filament sensor)
  • 1x Accompanying nut from Steven

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • Enlarged the bottom hole to minimize any drilling
  • Enlarged the middle hole
  • Added chamfers to the top and bottom holes to aid screwing in the fitting
  • Changed the top of the screw design similar to the one by Jason
