“deej is an open-source hardware volume mixer for Windows and Linux PCs. It lets you use real-life sliders (like a DJ!) to seamlessly control the volumes of different apps (such as your music player, the game you're playing and your voice chat session) without having to stop what you're doing.”
Miodec's fork allows for the use of buttons with the deej software. The original deej software only allows for audio sliders. This fork allows you to assign a code to a button and that code translates to a particular key press. Im not an expert, so see the link at the bottom for more info.
LxWxH = 90.80 x 74 x 41
This is a very small design considering it has 8 switches and 4 potentiometers, so it should fit comfortably anywhere you put it.
Front Plate: Holds the key switches and potentiometers in place. Also had cutouts for the potentiometer caps to fit into so they don't stick out to much.
Case: Holds the microcontroller, has 2 lips for the front plate to rest on, and has 2 screw holes to mounting the front plate.
Spacer: A spacer is placed in each potentiometer cap to prevent the cap from going to far into the cutout hole.
There are instructions in the deej and miodec links for how to code and wire the project. You can follow the instructions through deej for coding the arduino and config files. They have examples and templates for getting started. They also have a discord that has helped me a ton.
These are the parts with the links that I used. There are many other options out there so feel free to choose your own. If your on a budget, I would suggest finding a microcontroller in a pack of 1 instead of 2 and I would change the mechanical switches to gateron yellows instead of ink black v2.
