Pimpington Bear - Filament Painting

Pimpington Bear is a venture back to a less complex color model. It took me a while to perfect that bling to get that sparkle illusion with only 4 colors. I sometimes forget that not everyone can print these crazy color models I have done because while it is doable without an AMS/MMU, it does require a lot of different filaments. This model will only be available to club members.

I have included two 3MF print profiles, one for AMS and one for NO AMS. This one is only 4 colors  so no crazy swap instructions this time. This is a fairly quick print at about 6.5 hours using my provided profiles.

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.16mm. The profile has a height modifier to print the first 0.64mm @ 0.16 layer height as that is the min depth/non blended portion of the base color. If you use a different slicer set all your color changes before doing the modifier as it changes the amount of layers, or use the #mm value instead. This shaves off approximately half an hour of print time. 

DO NOT change the Z dimension. If you substitute filaments results will vary. If you have Hueforge you can import the STL and see how substituted filaments will change the outcome before printing.

I use the TD-1 to measure my filament opacity which is why you see the names I have assigned to them in Hueforge. This gives me an accurate prediction. Filament TD can vary from brand to brand and even from spool to spool. PLA BambuLab Basic Black - TD-1 - Transmission Distance: 0.6
PLA BambuLab Basic Blue Gray - TD-1 - Transmission Distance: 3.1
PLA BambuLab Matte Ash Gray - TD-1 - Transmission Distance: 1.5
PLA BambuLab Basic Jade White - TD-1 - Transmission Distance: 5

Swap Instructions:
Start with Black
At layer #12 (1.04mm) swap to Blue Gray
At layer #23 (1.92mm) swap to Ash Gray
At layer #29 (2.4mm) swap to Jade White for the rest.
