The PSSS is comprised of signs, hangers and connecting links that were designed to work together. They can be combined vertically however you wish, knowing they will fit together. From a simple 1 sign configuration to multiple signs and hangers, YOU decide what is right for your situation.
To keep it as simple as possible, all of the signs and hangers are 4MM thick and there is 1 manual colour change. The connecting links are 2MM thick and print in one colour.
PSSS master.3mf project file that contains all the settings for the various signs and hangers
<sign>.stl files
<Link/connector>.stl file(s)
Open the PSSS master.3mf project file with PrusaSlicer. This will do the initial settings setup for Generic PLA, .2MM Quality, MK3S/+.
Import the required <sign>. stl file or files. If importing more than 1 file, ensure that they use the same background and foreground colours. You can use any colours, but I suggest using colours that are typically used in your area to avoid confusion.
Now you can delete the PSSS master object if desired.
If required, change filament and printer, but the objects are designed for .2MM layers, so only change layer height if you really know what you are doing.
Import the desired <Link/connector> .stl files. There is a large door hanger, a small circular split link(after many iterations, it is still not as good as I would like) and a S-hook. Create as many instances as you need.
Now is the time to verify your settings!
Slice and export.
Print.
I have tried to minimize some of the visible surface layer issues by avoiding hard to fill areas on the surface layers.
I use a smooth sheet and .4MM nozzle, so all the objects have been optimized for, and printed in, this environment.
I primarily use Hilbert Curve for both the Top and Bottom layer infill, but in this case, I used Rectilinear for Bottom and Hilbert curve for Top. Why? Hilbert Curve for Bottom layer requires wickedly good first layer adhesion and Rectilinear will provide novice users a better chance of succeeding. And I prefer the look of Hilbert Curve for top layer. It can easily be changed
I have not tried to scale the signs or hangers. They were designed to fit comfortably on my doors and clear the door frame. If you want to try scaling, make sure all the signs and hangers can be scaled the same in the X and Y direction to ensure the holes will align. Check that they can all be scaled the same first. I suggest you leave Z at 4MM.
I have not tried ironing.
To advanced users - go for it.
The main limitation is my inability to absorb other languages, but if you reach out to me with the sign or hanger you would like modified and the language and text you want substituted in, I will do what I can.
My lofty goal is to produce 1 sign or hanger each month.
Address any translation requests as quickly as possible.
Address suggestions as time allows.
Update the PSSS with sign/hangers that are less ominous.
