I've been following @Kempy_272538's version of a SpaceMouse that he made a PCB for to simplify wiring and make it more compact and robust. I really liked that idea so I thought I'd try it on this model. Everything else is the same as the original. I've included the modified parts of the original and the gerber files to order your own boards.
I designed it to use this button: dtsa-63k-v. I found them on Aliexpress. Also, it uses 2 M2.5X5 button head screws to hold the spring holder onto the circuit board. I added the .step assembly file in case anyone wants to modify it further.
I just ordered my boards so I haven't been able to test everything yet. If anyone sees anything that doesn't look right or I managed to route the wiring incorrectly PLEASE let me know and I'll correct it ASAP.
11-22-24 I finally got the parts to assemble this remix but I found that I had put the circuit board upside down in my model so the holes for the buttons and Arduino didn't line up! I just updated the Case_1 Base_1 and Arduino Plate_1 files. I also added a case_2, magnet plate_2 and base_2 that use smaller 4mm OD inserts as I didn't have any 5mm OD inserts to use.
11-24-24 I'm not sure how, but when I made the Gerber files it didn't connect the buttons, so they don't work. I just updated them to correct it.
The author remixed this model.
Modified to add a PCB to simplify wiring and make more robust.
